// news and updates //

280210 || Has it really been that long since the last update? I guess so!! After a huge well-deserved break, Crossover is not back into it with a bang! 2010 started off with Sin-Mae Chung's appearance at two shows; the First Thursdays show at St. Kevin's Arcade. You can view her works here and The Franklin Arts Centre in February for the Chinese New Year, you can view the lion dance (and other weird photos) here. Photos of the actual works will be up soon. This coming First Thursdays which will be held on the 4th of March at St. Kevin's Arcade, new Crossover member Mirjam Toldam will be showing, and Crossover's own director, Fifi Cheung will be exhibiting her works that were shown at Corbin Estate Gallery. Along with that, I, myself will be performing some spoken word poetry with the help of Miskatonic who in turn will also be performing a few songs. And watch out for TV One's show Asia Downunder as Crossover will be featured on this show sometime soon!! Exciting stuff happening! Special thanks to Glenna from TV One, Lauren Orlina, Meghan Paggabao and Cleo Barnett for their continuing support to our collective and for helping us get out there! Hope to see you guys at the upcoming event!

241109 || Hmm ok so nearly the end of November and things are going down quite slow!! The next show will now be in January unfortunately as we weren't able to secure a spot. But we've got curator Steven Ball on board now, so things are gonna get better. EVENTS coming up... December 3 for First Thursdays, Crossover's Meghan Paggabao, Selene Simcox and Sin-Mae Chung will be showing, and we're waiting on another potential artist from Crossover to show as well. This event is HUGE... With GeorgeFM, sponsored by the K Road Association and Khuja Lounge, performances by DJs and Sola Rosa. The event's poster can be found under the 'events' page for more details!! See you guys there!

121009 || Had a Crossover meeting last night, quite exciting stuff! We have names of artists listed down who will be performing in our next show in December, some very exciting stuff! We've got musical performers, spoken word, fashion show and HEAPS more! Looking forward to it. On the downside, we are saying good-bye to one of our pioneers, Jane Sullivan. She will be saying good-bye to the shores of Auckland and saying hello to the sunny and humid (yet beautiful!) shores of the Gold Coast!! Wishing her all the best in her endeavours! Crossover will be right here waiting for you. Chur!

031009 || Hey guys, sorry we haven't been updating lately. Things have been moving quite slow BUT, getting there. We are currently in the middle of planning for our next show and we're hoping it'd be in December, a couple of weeks before Christmas!! If you are interested in showing them, please let us know as this is going to be HUGE, and we're hoping to get some major sponsors as well. As you all know, starting last weekend and the days following after that, some countries in the Asia/Pacific region have been affected by the continuous natural disasters; floods in the Philippines and Vietnam, tsunami's and earthquakes in Samoa, Tonga, Cook Islands and Indonesia. These countries need our help, if we can't help physically, then please help by donating for relief goods. The Redcross society around the world is helping out, visit http://redcross.org, there are links there to offer your donations. Prayers are needed for these places! Let's help as much as we can! Until the next update!

170909 || Welcoming Claudia Jowitt to the member's circle. Check out her art under the "Gallery" link.

150909 || Unfortunately, our exhibition has come to an end and so for those who are planning on visiting the Crossover exhibition at Reagan Lee Gallery, I'm sorry but we have already taken down our stuff. But never fear, the website is still up and running, I will be putting up the pioneer's works on the site in the next couple of days, so watch out for it. The good side of things is that, we are planning for our next exhibition which will be bigger than our opening. So keep checking back here!

130909 || This evening, Crossover had a special dinner to celebrate our exhibition opening success and Sin-Mae and Fifi surprised us with these overly-cute white pillows with stripe patterns on the back, and embroidered at the front was Crossover's logo and personalised with our names. Words honestly could not express how loved and happy I felt when I caught a glimpse of it for the first time. Fifi had neatly stacked them on the couch, but then I drastically ruined the whole set up cause I was too excited. But thanks Fifi and Sin-Mae!!!

p.s. there's now a direct link up top to the guestbook =)

120909 || Crossover's first exhibition and website launch took off with a blast. It was HOT like you wouldn't believe. The windows steamed up with a 100+ guests, squeezed in together like a pack of sardines. None of us expected this number of people to show up. As early as 530pm (even though we had really expected people to come after 630pm ~ you know, island-time!), random visitors were starting to swarm in. It was amazing! It's now been a week since the launching event, and the night still remains fresh in my mind as though it were yesterday (despite the days of the week flying by). But nevertheless, we are now planning for our next show which will be held before the year ends (fingers-crossed!) and this time, we plan on having it unbelievably big! We have had amazing feedback from the crowd, an odd "it's hot in here" comment on the side, but that was the only negative feedback - really, it was the love steaming from each and everyone one of the pioneers/arts/visitors. So I shan't talk too much, but just letting you know, this section will be updated more often, we don't want you all to miss out on any events. Ohhh, and check this link out. Thanks to Designer Direction for this article! It was an honour to have you there.

*updates* We have a guestbook now! Feel free to leave your mark with us, especially if you want to be given the opportunity to get your work out there, leave your contact details! p.s. The guestbook can be found in the Contacts link =)
