Crossover

Art is one of the core layers of New Zealand's cultural fabric and has played an important role in preserving our culture over time. Through Crossover, our concept intends to bring about a support or movement in bridging gaps between young emerging artists and the creative industry. In the future we look forward to helping artists across a range of disciplines and provide a place for them to practice and showcase their art.

The Name
Crossover was envisioned in March 2009 and was brought on by the initial plan of being able to gather strands of emerging New Zealand artists that make up and hold New Zealand's contemporary identity. Crossover represents the many disciplines of art that crosses over each other; from photographers, painters, fashion designers, graphic designers, to musicians, poets and writers, Crossover is a name that symbolises the collaboration of the diverse art disciplines in New Zealand's creative industry.

Vision // To be the capital residence for all artists from each and every creative field and help them nourish their talents.
To be able to create a path not limited to New Zealand's creative industry but also to other emerging artists around the world.

Mission // To create opportunities for emerging creative artists, designers, musicians, poets, performers, and all that are interested and passionate about being involved in the creative industry by creating a hub where they can practice their own discipline of art.

The Soul
We have a desire to constantly nourish an artist's creativity, talent and skill. It is a romantic attachment to art that feeds our souls, and it is the love for art that we want to be able to share with the rest of the community. Art is limitless. It is seen, heard and felt and knowing that there is a great opportunity of artists in New Zealand that can provide these, Crossover will be a place where artists of all kind can have the freedom to relish on their talents and be able to showcase it.
