| Rachael Garvey BFA Fine Arts My current practice is exploring the notions of gender identity, queer theory, drag, performative photo documentation, and the alter ego. This way of working allows me to not only deconstruct and reconstruct numerous imagined male identities, but also enables me to explore the concepts of gender. My photography is not simply exploring the fantasy or curiosity to understand or become the opposite sex: I am exploring the notion that gender could be something that has simply been learned and constructed, and therefore can be deconstructed and reconstructed at will.
