| Aja Pendergrast Artist In my art practice I have used diverse media such as drawing, film, sculpture and installation. Throughout these works I am constantly drawn to natural phenomena both in a literal and symbolic sense. I am interested how images from the natural world are abstracted on a daily basis, where nature becomes a conquest to be tamed or alternatively becomes a landscape for vicarious projections. This exoticism of the natural leads to a desire to escape within it but in turn descries the atmosphere that caused such longing. In my work I seek to engender such thoughts in a non-direct process.
